Medium game, big game or dangerous game loads can be developed with a specific bullet for the animal you are hunting. The bullet can be tailored for deep penetration on big or dangerous game, or tailored for medium game, like white tail and mule deer. Varmint loads can be developed for year round hunting for maximum velocity and flat shooting for long shots. Ammunition can be developed for almost any handgun or rifle.
Each rifle can have several different loads for each game or season hunted. For example, each individual rifle could be tailored to have several different loads for different purposes. My primary rifle is in 270 Winchester, and I have 4 different loads for it. I have a 100 grain load for varmints, a 130 grain load for deer, a 135 grain load for long range, and a 140 grain load for elk.
